As for fishers being dangerous…cats are dangerous to birds, dogs are dangerous to deer in winter, our cars and roads are dangerous to everyone and most of our sounds would be scary to any wild animal. I think many people make the mistake of identifying this as fisher when in fact they usually stay away from people, where fox will live right in your yard, as one does here. I thought something was dying…my neighbour came out at the same time and called her cat in the house…at the same time I saw the fox running away..it was the fox screeching at the cat. We knew we had them in our area for over 10 years. about 30 mins later i was the onlny one up..i heard that scary fucking sound again i was really freaked out because i didnt know what a fishercat was but now i know there in my nieghborhood one of my cats havent come home in 5 days i think a fisher might of gotten him my mom said she heard horrible noises i wanna find those sons of bitchs and kill em all!! so are we. “Skeptical” is correct, in that many other animals scream. obviously you are not a woodsman. This site in general is pretty good, but the web, and the not-so-ferocious Fisher cat would be better off if this page was deleted. These are viscous predators that you should be very wary of. I saw one about 4:30 in the afternoon crossing in front of me on the street not too long ago. the best way i found to get them away from my house is to let a radio (music) play outside all night and sometimes when i hear one crying i press the panic button of my truck lol they dont stay around .
